TEMPO RUBATO | A documentary exploration of the roots of musical inspiration

“If you love something, you fight for it. You can’t end folkloric music, because this music is what represents us.” — Emilsen Pacheco, traditional Colombian musician

Follow the development of a jazz composition by the acclaimed New York-based Colombian percussionist and composer, Samuel Torres, whose album, 'Forced Displacement,' was written as a tribute to the victims of the Colombian conflict. The project takes him on a journey to the roots of Afro-Colombian music and the communities in which it plays an important social role.
